Gallery Exhibition

Creative Reaction Lab’s Artwork for Equity Advocacy Campaign was launched in 2017 in recognition of the United Nation’s International Day of Elimination of Racial Discrimination. In support of our work for racial and health equity, Artwork for Equity will select young Black and Latinx designers and artists (26 and under) to produce original images in the form of posters promoting inclusion, equity, liberation, and justice for all races. The 2020 campaign theme is “Ancestor’s Vote.” One of the main goals is to raise consciousness around historical and contemporary forms of voter suppression impacting Black and Latinx communities in the United States, while also highlighting resistance movements and achievements in reducing inequitable access to voting.

From March 12 through May 23 a selection of designers and artists who participated in CRXLAB’s Artwork for Equity program was on view in the Saint Louis Contemporary Art Museum. Their work was featured in an Exhibition titled Collective Impact (pictures from the exhibition can be viewed below). Prints of the designers work are currently available for purchase on both Creative Reaction Lab’s and The Saint Luis Contemporary Art Museum’s website (proceeds from the purchase of the artist’s work go toward non-profit organizations).

Betrayal: A Life Lesson

By Edna E. Roman
This is a design created by Edna E Roman. The collaborative effort between text and design led to a successful book cover. The Story is based on true events, and takes place in the state of New Jersey. It was import to the author that the graphic on the cover incorporate details from the text without revealing the story. If you look closely at the key in the title, you can see the Trenton City skyline, where the much of the story unfolds.
